1 Within the powerful magnetic field of an MRI machine, hydrogen atoms in the body align uniformly — forming the foundation for detailed imaging.
2 Focused radio waves momentarily shift the aligned atoms from their position. As they return, they emit detectable signals that differ based on the surrounding tissue type.
3 A computer processes these signals into high-resolution cross-sectional images, enabling precise visualization of tissues, organs, and any potential abnormalities.
1 A rotating X-ray tube emits rays through the body. Depending on the type of tissue, the rays are absorbed to varying degrees — providing the raw data for subsequent imaging.
2 Detectors positioned opposite the X-ray tube measure how much radiation passes through the body at each point. By capturing data from multiple angles, a comprehensive image of the body’s interior is created.
3 A computer processes this data to generate precise cross-sectional images. This allows bones, organs, and changes such as bleeding or tumors to be identified quickly and reliably.
Personally accompanied – competently looked after
At Arvin, you are our focus – from the first contact to the evaluation of your results. Our experienced partner institutes with Swiss specialists will personally accompany you through MRI and blood tests and, if necessary, connect you with other specialists from our network.
Modern diagnostics as part of preventive healthcare
Preventive health checkups can help you better assess your individual health status. Imaging and laboratory-based procedures can provide indications of certain changes in the body, which can then be further investigated by specialists. This helps you make informed decisions about your health and plan possible preventive measures together.
Your Checkup Step by Step
1
Book a consultation & appointment
Take advantage of our free consultation for a personal consultation or book your appointment directly via our booking portal.
2
Preparation for examination
On the day of the examination, a specialist will explain the procedure to you, check for possible restrictions such as implants, and ensure that all your questions are answered in advance.
3
Diagnostic examination
MRI scans are painless and non-invasive. During the examination, you lie still and listen to music. You remain connected to our specialist staff at all times.
4
Analysis & recording of findings
A radiologist will precisely analyze your images and blood values and create a clear, understandable report with a professional assessment.
5
Results discussion & action plan
Your personalized report will be available within a few days. You will discuss the results with a radiologist and receive specific recommendations for your health.
Good reasons for an investigation
1
Better treatment options
Early detection can expand treatment options, depending on the type and stage of the disease. This allows specialists to plan appropriate measures earlier.
2
Staying healthy longer
Preventive assessments can help to identify stressful developments in a timely manner and to support long-term health – individually and based on evidence.
3
More clarity for decisions
Many clients report that a thorough diagnosis helps them to better understand their health status and to decide on possible further steps together with specialists.
Your body in focus, Key findings at a glance
Pancreas (MRI)
The pancreas produces essential digestive enzymes and insulin. An MRI can detect inflammation, cysts, or tumors at an early stage — even in hard-to-diagnose conditions such as pancreatic cancer, which carries one of the highest mortality risks.
Uterus & Ovaries (MRI)
For Women: The uterus and ovaries play a central role in female health. An MRI can detect fibroids, cysts, and tumors at an early stage, supporting accurate and targeted diagnosis.
Lymph nodes (MRI)
Lymph nodes filter pathogens from the lymphatic fluid. MRI can accurately detect changes in the lymph nodes — such as inflammation, swelling, or tumors — without the use of radiation.
Prostate (MRI)
For Men: The prostate is part of the male reproductive system. MRI can detect inflammation, enlargement (BPH), and larger tumors at an early stage.
Large abdominal artery (abdominal aorta)
The abdominal aorta supplies oxygen-rich blood to vital organs. MRI can detect aneurysms or narrowings at an early stage — helping to prevent serious complications such as vessel rupture in time.
Adrenal glands (MRI)
The adrenal glands produce essential hormones such as cortisol and adrenaline. MRI can detect tumors, cysts, or hormone overproduction at an early stage — helping to prevent metabolic disorders and related complications in a targeted way.
Bladder (MRI)
The bladder stores urine and controls its release. MRI helps detect changes such as tumors or inflammation at an early stage — providing greater clarity and reassurance in cases of unclear symptoms.
Lunge
The lungs supply the body with oxygen – essential for energy, concentration, and well-being. A scan can detect inflammation, emphysema, or tumors early on and enable targeted diagnosis.
Heart
The heart pumps blood throughout the body and is central to energy, performance, and life. A scan examines the coronary arteries and possible narrowing. It enables early detection of risks for heart attacks and coronary heart disease.
Breast
For women: The breast scan is used for the early detection of breast cancer.
Brain
An MRI of the brain detects structural changes such as tumors, inflammation, multiple sclerosis, and vascular abnormalities such as aneurysms early on. The examination is non-invasive, painless, and radiation-free—particularly important for recurring headaches, dizziness, or memory problems.
What we don't see
A whole-body MRI is an excellent way to detect many diseases at an early stage. This provides you with a comprehensive overview of your health—and a good sense of security.
However, no single test can detect all diseases equally well. Therefore, we recommend additional, targeted tests for certain issues—to be on the safe side.
For example, colon cancer can only be reliably detected with a colonoscopy (which we don't perform). Prostate cancer can also be detected more accurately with a PSA test and a targeted prostate MRI (which we don't perform).
And for knee or foot problems, high-resolution specialized MRIs are often the better choice because they provide even more precise images. Our experienced team will be happy to advise you personally on which examinations are appropriate for you – so you can feel well cared for and safe at all times.
Answers to all questions
Our whole-body MRI (up to mid-thigh) detects possible signs of tumors, metastases, inflammation, vascular changes, or brain diseases. The lung scan is particularly suitable for detecting lung tumors and assessing the rib cage bones. With the cardiac scan, we analyze the degree of calcification of the heart vessels – age- and gender-specific. In addition, blood tests provide clues to factors such as diabetes, elevated cholesterol levels, or your metabolic health.
Please use the booking form to inform us about any implants, pacemakers, medications, allergies, or a possible pregnancy. Before the scan, remove all metal objects (e.g. jewelry). If you experience claustrophobia, be sure to let us know in advance. And importantly: Do not eat anything for four hours before your appointment — water is allowed.
In many cases, (partial) cost coverage is possible through supplemental insurance. We'd be happy to discuss whether this applies to you. Fill out the form and we'll clarify the situation for you: https://forms.gle/L3KGHBoZQMqNELyR7
No, you don’t need a doctor’s referral. You can decide for yourself when to book an appointment — and we’ll gladly guide you through the process.
Your entire visit will take approximately 90 to 120 minutes. The MRI takes about an hour, and the blood draw takes just a few minutes—everything is organized for you in a well-thought-out process.
MRI examinations are radiation-free and considered very safe. If we use a contrast agent, we only do so with clear medical justification and under the supervision of experienced medical staff.
Just a few business days after your appointment, you'll receive a comprehensive report with all the findings. We'll be happy to take the time to review everything with you afterwards – online, conveniently, and in person.
We recommend a health check-up every 1 to 2 years — depending on your age, lifestyle, and individual risk factors. This allows for early detection of changes and helps prevent or manage potential illnesses more effectively.
If any abnormal findings appear, we will inform you immediately and discuss everything with you in detail. If needed, we will arrange further evaluations or connect you with medical specialists. Naturally, we will support you every step of the way — personally, discreetly, and with a clear plan.
Yes, absolutely. Our check-up can be flexibly expanded — for example, with colonoscopies, skin screenings, or additional preventive tests. Together, we tailor everything to your individual needs and risk factors to provide a comprehensive picture of your health.
